Lensbaby Question

I know from the Search feature of UHH that Lensbaby enjoys a love/hate relationship. I also know I can probably get a good deal on EBay from someone who has found it to be lacking.

So, here is my question..
If I want to get the best Lensbaby to try, what would you suggest is the best model to purchase?

Thanks,
Ron

Too vague a question. The different models have different features for what you want to do.

As with all lenses, they have their purpose. A look then at their offerings may help you http://lensbaby.com/lenses

I want to do as much as I can. That is the reason I posted this. I want to know what is the most 'flexible' do anything Lensbaby out there.

I have been to the site, I need feedback from UHH users who have used the lens and would be prepared to offer their expertise as to which lens offers me the most flexibility of the lens lineup.

For all purpose work, I'd take the Pro-Effects kit, with the Composer Pro & optics, plus a few macros. Like $700....or go with just the Composer Pro for half that.

Why do you want this particular lens? Understand what it does that you think you like. Ask someone that you personally know what they think of it.

I wonder if the Lens baby would be a cheap alternative to a perspective control lens? (Not trying to hijack your thread)

One of the members "Dixiegirl" has had great success with hers, you might PM her and get her input.

I have used the first basic lens baby for years, and love it. It makes your work edgier, mysterious, and often unpredictable ( to you).

Ron,

I have a umber of Lensbabies that I use mostly on my Sony NEX-7 or Nex-5N. However, the one I find is most useful is the Composer Pro with Sweet 35 Optic. http://lensbaby.com/lenses-composer-pro-sweet35.

It's only available in DSLR mounts because it projects too far into the bodies of most mirrorless cameras (bummer). The nice thing about it is that you don't have to go through the magnetic washers to get the right aperture. The Sweet Optic has a built in aperture ring so you just dial in your f-stop.

Keep in mind there is no electronic connection with the camera so auto focus and most metering functions are out but with instant feedback from the LCD you can pretty much figure out your shutter speed and manual focusing will do the rest.

PD
