Taken during a trip to visit my daughter in Richmond, VA. A lot of history in that town.

Been past it many times. One of these times I should stop and look around.

I love Richmond, someday we want to move down there. While you were there did you get to see the Tredegar Ironworks, and Chickahominy Bluffs. That town oozes history.

I love Richmond too. I live just outside DC and went down there for the first time just to tour. When my friend and I got to St. John's church they were starting a reenactment of Patrick Henry's Speech. We sat in a pew up front, they played all 5 service songs and sang God Bless America to start. The "delegates" came in and sat among the people and then had their discussions about freedom. As a 4th grade teacher of VA history, I so enjoyed it.
Hollywood Cemetery is another must see. Sits on a bluff overlooking Richmond. Don't forget the capital. Simple on the outside, gorgeous on the inside.
The Delegates. The one with the gold vest is Thomas Jefferson

You are right about Hollywood Cemetery, as we wandered through I found a headstone of a man who died on my birthday 100 years before I was born. For some reason that really stuck with me.
