I'd hate to chew up band-width and memory when the image could be resized and still meet the requirements of the group.

Here are the guidelines, David. It doesn't say anything about size, but your image will load faster if it is not huge.
To attach a file, click the Browse button and select the file from your computer.
You can also add a description of each file in the respective text field.
You can attach up to 3 files at once. If you need to attach more, then submit the post and use the "Add New Attachment" link.
If you want to display a picture in your post, then please make sure to use GIF, JPG, BMP or PNG files.
Store original -- if checked, original image files will be stored under "Download" link next to the downsized image. If unchecked, only inline thumbnails will remain. Please only enable this option if you need to attach images that require high resolution versions to be kept. This option only applies to JPG files.
If uploading large images, then after clicking the Send button please allow some time for the image upload to complete. Your browser would indicate that the operation is still in progress.
If you click the Preview button, the attachments are going to be discarded, so you would have to re-add them again.

Hello David, I resize to fit the screen, I can't see any point in uploading an image to be viewed here any larger than that. I dislike having to scroll around an image :-) File size I generally keep at around 1MB or less.
