What are the REAL differences between the Canon T3, Canon T3i, and Canon T2i?

Next, if you had a choice between any of the above and a Nikon D3100, which one would you choose?

See if this link works:
http://www.dpreview.com/products/compare/side-by-side?products=nikon_d5100&products=nikon_d3100&products=canon_eos1100d&products=canon_eos550d&products=canon_eos600d&sortDir=ascending
Go try them out to see if they fit your hands... and mind.

The Canon 1100 D is the T3
550D is T2i
600D is T3i

I included the Nikon D5100 for grins. It's newer than the rest in the comparison.
Not that much difference in resolution between any of them, save for the T3 at 12megs, but in the real world, unless your job is shooting charts, you won't notice.

Concentrate on the things that really matter- concept, lighting, composition, timing.

Of the three, the t3i is the newest with the latest features.

Schweizer SGS 2-33.
The FAA Examiner showed me how to loop it on my last exam flight. This was before my hair turned chrome.

I have a friend down in Maryland that bought a Canon T3i not long ago, previously had a Canon Rebel XTi like mine. Only real difference between them was the T3i takes better night time shots (has faster ISO) than the XTi. Which saved me $899 cause I take very few night shots and I'm happy with my XTi.

If you go to the Canon.com site they have a comparison chart.

Like the above comment I would go with the latest one. They are all good cameras. As is the Nikon.

It is the photographer not the camera.

The T3 i believe is a 12mp camera and the T2i and the T3i are both 18mp. The T3i has a rotating display screen the T2i does not. I shoot with the T2i and love it. The T3i is a newer version of the T2i. All three are great cameras.

After you compare the technical differences (some won't matter depending on what you photograph), go to a camera store and see how the cameras fit in you hand with the lens that you would choose. Not all cameras fit all photographers. Camera comfort is important.
