Can someone tell me what version of ViewNX comes with the D7000? I have DW 11, 13, 21, etc.

I'm not sure what shipped originally with the D7000, but I got ViewNX2 with my D7100, and just yesterday downloaded the latest version of ViewNX2 (2.8.1) from this link -- http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18678

According to this info from Nikon, the ViewNX2 is compatible with D7000 -- http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18678

Not sure what the latest version is but when I got my D7000 about a year ago it was version 2.60 (64bit)

I'm wondering about the writing on the label, to the right of the hole - DW 11, etc., or the copyright year.

DW11 is copyrighted 2010.

That may be just the copyright or version date of the label or cover. To determin the version of ViewNX software you have, open ViewNX, go to the HELP tab in top menu bar, then click on "About ViewNX" and it will open a window telling you what version you have and whether it's a 32-bit of 64-bit version.

If I could install and/or open it, I could do that.

Are you able to download the new version direct from Nikon? http://nikonimglib.com/nvnx/index_en_nsa.html#os-windows

Jerry, the latest version of ViewNX2 I have for 32 bit is 2.8.1; but 2.8.0 for 64 bit - thought I had upgraded both computers at the same time - have to check...

View will work with any Nikon camera, and I believe cameras other than Nikon but I can't speak to the RAW format of other manufacturers

Yes, I did download it, but it would not install because the computer thinks another version is installed, and it wants to uninstall it - but it can't - "invalid path." that's the subject of another thread I have going.

The thing is, I have several copies of ViewNX, with various copyright dates. The newest is 2013, DW23.

Do you know if the latest version works with all Nikon DSLRs, or if they ship the version you need when you buy a camera?

Not sure which version I have, but I bought my D7000 a year and a half ago, and it came with ViewNX.

Bought my re-furb D7000 in April of this year and it came with the disc ViewNX 2.8.1

Since that's the only version Nikon offers on their website, I'm assuming it's good for all Nikons. I do know that ViewNX was replaced by ViewNX2.

Jerry, have you tried uninstalling your older version via the Control Panel?
