How to improve the editing, composition, and overall theme. I'm wanting to learn and improve. Be honest, rip it apart but leave constructive criticism with suggestions on how to improve this capture enabling me to improve, Thanks in advance UHH.

I don't know about having the drinks in the shot. They are getting between the people. I would want the couple sitting closer together, and move them back a bit so you can get closer to them, and still have some beach in your shot. If it's a planned shoot, it might be better if they were wearing clothing that complimented each other more. She looks like she's dressed for cool weather and he looks like he's dressed for a summer day. I rarely photograph people, Deej, so take it for what it's worth. I can't wait to see what others say. :-)

The girl's body language seems a bit negative - she's leaning away from the guy (who's leaning towards her). Also, it's the sand that gives the picture its context, so I would have liked to see a bit more of it. And the horizon is very slightly off. That probably wouldn't have been a problem if the horizon hadn't been so close to the top edge of the picture.

Thanks for the reply. The shot was early in the morning and may explain the couples dress. This was a candid shot and the couple did not know there pictures was being taken. I myself was wondering if more beach and less sky would have been better also... many thanks

I thought the same but there language during their sitting session did not seem to portray this. I agree that more beach should have been in order. Kinda funny, I tweaked the horizon and upon viewing after loading I seen it needed more. I'm wondering if there did not need to be more contrast to the elements and if there could have not been a better choice on exposure????

I'm not put off by the space between the couple. Is this a candid shot or are the subjects models?

I like the shot but as RG said straighten the horizon. Portrait orientation might have worked here, getting more sand and sky.
