Olympic ski jump at night

I could not sleep in the motel, so I ventured out about 4am this morning with a particular shot in mind. I knew it would be completely dark at ground level; but I was counting on some "light pollution" from Lake Placid to give me a dramatic silhouette. Then I used a maglight with a tungsten bulb to "paint" a nearby tree that would have been all black. My question is: Do you guys think the image is strong enough to merit all the post that would be required to clean up the image? I'm not asking you to help with the post. I think I can clean it up; but it will take lots of time. Just looking for some opinions about the strength of the image.

Honestly, it doesn't resonate with me.

From what you write, the ski jump is the important part of the image. From what I see, the tree is the important part of the image and the ski jump only incidental.
As to your question: Personally I probably wouldn't do anything with it.
Will you have an opportunity to re-take, like tonight or tomorrow morning? If so, I think I would zoom in more on the ski jump, allowing it take a much larger part of the image. If possible, move to the left a bit so you get less tree and more ski jump in the image.
Just my thoughts - feel free to disagree or ignore!

Thanks, I'm having my doubts now that I am home and seeing it on the big monitor. Tree does seem to compete with ski jump. Not sure that it resonates with me any longer either. So it goes.

Esther, I think you hit the nail on the head here. Tree is competing with jump. I think I was trying to do too many things at once. I wanted to try to do some light painting; but I also wanted that ski jump. Hmmmm requires more thought. Thanks for your valued input.

This is a case where the light painting served no purpose at all except to confuse the image and turn it mediocre.
Deleting it is a good option, good decision.

Thank you for your input. I think you are right. Would have been better if I just waited for some more light and then took the shot. Next time I'm up there, there will be more snow. Think I will rethink this shot then. Thanks.
