Sometimes I don't think that photos does the great outdoors justice. Ya gust gotta be there to see it for yourself. It's amazing of all the creations the weather can bring. I have never seen a horror frost so beautiful as this one. On the day that I captured these photos the beauty was so overwhelming that I had to make a trip back into town and get my sister in law and take her out to see the beauty that was created. This was her first road trippin' with me "thebarbwiregirl". She was totally amazed and even got some awesome photos. Hope ya like them....

1)Pictures are quite good.
2)To stave off future problems, it's called HOAR frost, not HORROR frost. Nothing scary about it... :)

Beautiful, wish I could get pics like that. I have seen frost like that but didn't have a camera. Great shots

Yup, it's called hoar frost, but ya know what? Sometimes it can very much be a horror, particularly when you have to drive in the stuff. I saw your title and chuckled, so I thank you for that.
These are lovely photos, barbwiregirl. I've seen some of your other work and you have some talent here. Good on you! Keep on shooting and, by all means, keep on treating us here to your images.
I grew up in the KC area. What part of Missouri are you in? You needn't answer if you don't want to - I'm just curious.

Your photos are so wonderful. I always thought "hoar" frost sounded odd!
Nice photos. In Alaska I've seen chain link fences solid white from hoar frost....school kids would write their names in the fence. Nothing prettier than a crystal clear blue sky with hoar frost glistening in the trees against that sky. Your photos bring back really pleasant memories. I believe another name in the west is "poughie nip". Not sure about the spelling.
