Admittedly, this is not magazine cover material, but decided to post it anyway.

Photographed during the Kelby PhotoWalk (2013) on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, Scotland.

Settings: ISO 400, 71mm, f/4.5, 1/50 second. Overcast natural light, late afternoon.

Boy, does he ever look happy to see you!

I like it. What I would do if it were mine is [1] select his jacket and change the color to the pink of the building front. I know, hardly any guy would ever wear such a color, but I think it would be entertaining. [2] I would straighten the vertical. I think it has "possibilities" since I Lingered.

I can see your point about matching his jacket to the building, but I would have liked his jacket to be more complimentary (green) to the building or even a nice contrasting yellow! As for straightening the vertical, wouldn't that make the man appear tilted?

Thanks for the critique Chuck, appreciate it. 8-)

You didn't forbid it, so I thought I'd take a crack at it. :-D I don't think straightening it (plumbing through the central vertical) hurts, and I tried the jacket the same pink as the building, which I think works. Then I tried a forest green, but don't have enough skill (yet) to avoid fringing, but someone who knows what they are doing could do it. I didn't try a yellow. I still like the pink, and I LOVE the look on his face! :D

This one made me laugh as i was expecting someone with a bottle of Buckfast! You got the next best thing - someone with a greggs sausage roll. Well spotted and captured, only criticism is that it looks a wee bit skew-wiff but that could be because the shop is on a brae :-)

here we go again, what it is the point , sure you can change this you can change that But WHY it crazy . to start it must have a good composition . it must hold some interest . this has nothing but you can see it clear . but if I was thumbing through a mag , and came across this , I would be on the next page so fast it would make your head spin . and any one who stops to look at it and to start making comments like it should have a different colour for the jacket . or I would do this ori would that is way of base . you can't fix a crappy pic , its the same as trying to fix a flat tire with no air when the patch is in place . it's still flaccid no matter what you do .

Immediate impressions.
Bold pink colour, .....its crooked,.... funny look on blokes face, ...... and funny stance, ...... plinth at front is distracting. If it had a better looking person out front and was level it would probably work but at the moment all it has going for it is ....pink.

I like it but find the stone post in the foreground very distracting. My eye goes to that first.
