It is a sad comment on what happens to many of our veterans who sorely need help.

And yet, someone had to vision to see the possibilities... to find a way to let this man see himself in a different way... and it made a difference in his life.
This is what Dewitt Jones means when he says, " 'By celebrating what's right with the world, we find the energy to fix what's wrong."
Very cool timelapse video. Thanks.

You people know very little about alcoholism and drug addiction. It is not a hair cut and a shave. It is the individual's will to participate in a recovery program and then continue with it for life.

I do understand that this is a lifelong commitment on their part. I also think that when a person can see themselves, again, as the person they wanted to be, then they have a new vision to strive for. Of course it's not just about a hair cut and a shave. It's about a thousand different choices that we make in our lives and those things that happen that we don't have any control over. Life is a constant struggle for some. This was one man, who allowed someone to do this for him. It's only a beginning. It may make a difference... it may not.

This could well be a first step. Pride in one's appearance could lead to the next steps like enrolling in AA and other support groups. Hopefully this first step will give him that will. Will it work? Who knows, only time will tell.
