Do many of you download photos provided, to use as
desktops for your system, or as screen savers? Just wondering.

I prefer a plain background, and seldom use a screensaver.

Are you asking if we use other photographer's photos they posted on this forum? If that is the question, no I do not use another's photos. If I have been asked to adjust and critique, I remove that person's photo from my computer when I post the results. If someone were to ask me if they could use one of my photos for a screen saver, I'd be flattered and give permission on the caveat that it not be passed on to someone else. Of course I'd never know but that's where a level of trust comes to play.

Sometimes, but I prefer to put something personal on my desktop. Sometimes I change it to fit the season. But that's me I don't like to see the same thing all the time.

And unless the photos placed here have the accompanying download capability, there isn't much avaiable to use in such small resolution images that are posted here.

I, like others, tend to use my own creations on my desktop.

I do download a few, but do not use them as a desktop or screen saver. I save them in my UHH folder. While there are a lot of great photos posted on UHH, very few make it to my folder. I can't explain why I choose the ones that I do save, except to say they make me say WOW, I really like that. So far it seems to be composition and/or lighting, not subject matter, that I am interested in. I intend on studying the techniques of each. Hopefully, this will help me become a better photographer.

Well, I don't use a photo, per se, but I do have a desktop image. It depicts a sampling of the Clans Keith and MacGregor tartans with their respective crests overlying each, to represent my wife's clan (Keith) and mine (MacGregor). Kinda' hokey, but I like it. It reminds me of who I am.

I use my own photos on my desktop and have the screensaver routine pointed at my photo library so that it routates through the entire library. I would hesitate to download someone elses work for that purpose without their specific permission.
