Is Noise Ninja compatable with ViewNX 2

I am using the ViewNX 2 software that came with my camera. I am shooting in RAW and making basic adjustments to the images with the software prior to saving files to my hard drive in jpeg format. Some of the indoor basketball photos I have taken were shot at a high ISO and I would like to reduce the noise in the image. I have read some good things about Noise Ninja but am not sure if it is compatible with the ViewNX 2 software. I would like to know if anyone is using Noise Ninja with ViewNX 2. Thanks.

The answer seems to be available on Noise Ninja's site:

"Plug-in or standalone Noise Ninja runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux (standalone only). It is available as a Standalone application, as a plug-in for Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and Photoshop Filter plug-in compatible hosts, and as a plug-in for Aperture. The Standalone version is fully compatible with Lightroom and all image editors that support an "external editor" style of I/F (e.g. iPhoto, Aperture). The Aperture plug-in is compatible with all versions of Aperture including 32 and 64 bit. The Photoshop plug-in is compatible with all versions of Photoshop. The Noise Ninja plug-in version for Photoshop CS5 on the Mac is limited to 32 bit operation at the present time."

But, as it indicates, it works as a stand-alone app, so it doesn't have to be compatible with anything.

Thanks Bruce,
I read the same thing on their website but did not understand the "stand alone" term. You have cleared it up for me and I appreciate it.

If you have Photoshop CS5, its raw processor has a great noise reduction feature. You control the mount of chromatic and luminous noise, the luminance contrast, and the color detail. The results are far better than those available via the "reduce noise" feature of Photoshop proper.
