GC If it's blk & white you are interested in try Topaz it' on sale right now with the code "qaep13bw", for $30.00. I think today or tomorrow the sale ends. Great product...Rich

Thanks bigwolf !! Got it.......But still looking for a copy of the NIK Silver Efex program.

The Topaz deal is good for November according to what I just read. And I do like that it will run in PS Elements through XP Pro.

Thank you for the message. GC

I was just looking at the Topaz site. It is not obvious whether this is a stand-alone program, or a plug-in for something like PS or LR. The price is good until the 19th.
Can you give me any more info on it?

Thanks.

Bloke I'm not sure. I have their whole bundle which is a good price right now but you can try and down load their free version and if it works you can then purchase it. I do remember that last year they gave a 50% discount on Black Friday on everything but this year I don't know but I think the chances are good.....Rich

Yeah, the full bundle is out of my price range, but there are a couple there that I would be interested in. They just don't say if they are plug-ins or stand-alone. I already have a bunch of programs to run, and don't really want to add to that complexity, if that makes sense.

Bloke I can understand that so I would just download the Black & White one with there 30 day free trial. Try it for a couple of days and if it is a stand alone and you like it then you can buy it using the code I sent....Rich

Can the Topaz plug-ins be used on both Mac and PC, or would I need to buy one for each system?

wthomson it will work in both. If you have PS Elements it will probably be in the filters section also maybe as a stand alone one but not sure on the stand alone....Rich

Yeah, sorry... I understood what you meant, but not until I was away from my PC, and taking my camera for a walk! I will be doing that any moment now...

Thanks.

Still looking for an original copy in the packaging (opened of course) of NIK Silver Efex.

I did take a shot with a guy on Craig's List who said he had one and would make me a deal at $40.00. He showed up with a CD wrapped in a piece of copy paper and a key code scribbled on it. The guy looked "homeless" and hadn't bathed in a week so I invested $20 with not many expectations. The program was a copy of the trial and the key was bogus !! Hopefully he bought a meal or two with the twenty and not stop at the liquor store.

Still looking !!

You can use each Nik module as stand alone.
When doing so make sure you use a renamed copy for editing as it has no 'save' options so it is destructive.
