Ah well, what started as a close-up of Nikita's green eyes turned into a DOF study on nose hairs. Still, on a multi-colored cat (a mixture of grey and peach), there's some interesting coloration going on there, as well as a delightful fade into the background.
There's another lesson here. I have always told friend who are just getting in to photography to "shoot wide, and crop narrow". If you tell me I cropped this one too narrow, I couldn't agree more .... except that I shot it this way and didn't have any more real estate with which to play. Drat!
Green eyed cat
That's actually pretty darned interesting! I might even try it more soft-focused just to see :)
That's a cat for you. I feel it came out great, maybe you could train her to move at just the right time during her next photo shoot'

I like it. Cats are mysterious creatures, and I think you captured that mystery.
Looks like my Zoey the Cool Cat, a ginger tabby colored American Shorthair.
Interesting shot. Her eyes are really striking regardless. Too bad you didn't take a burst of shots. You might have lucked out. Thanks for sharing your photo.

Love those eyes.
Bob, despite missing the focus on the eyes, I think this shot not only works, it works well. The close-up crop saves it, and lets those eyes act as a source of mystery, in keeping with the feline mystique. If you'd had a wider crop, I don't think the shot would have been salvageable. But as it stands, it's an excellent photo. Good job!
