pictures from the Bayou

Here's pics I took while fishing in my boat. I tried to use light room to correct the aligator, but no success. Any suggestions? I took them with my small Nikon s8000 camera and the boat was moving. the aligator was not patience and moved before we could stop the boat or get closer to him.

Your photos seem to suffer from the 'Bulls-eye Effect' as all your subjects are centered. Google the 'Rule of Thirds' and I think that would help you. The boat needs to have the horizon leveled and the bird has just a touch of motion blur, but that is to be expected with cloudy skies. You could try sharpening the bird and next time increase your ISO at capture.
I am envious that you live in Nawlins, I would love a Central Grocery muffaletta right now, mmmmmm!

I do like the shrimper better, but the horizon still needs to be leveled and I think the boat needs a little more frame in front of it to move in to.
The speckle trout is great, nice sharp focus on the mouth with good background blur and looks great in the center of the frame.
The kitty picture is just slightly out of focus, the side and seat of the chair are sharp, but Mojo's eyes are soft. With animals, including people, if the eyes are not in tack sharp focus, the image just does not work. What is in the best focus is supposed to be the subject of the photo. Also the white fur between the ear and the front leg is just a touch too bright, the highlights are blown and there is no detail. I would make the background darker to focus all the attention on Mojo.
I'm not trying to be too critical, your photos are good, but with a bit of tweaking in both post processing and at time of capture, they could be better.

I know the cat is a bit off, but she's a terrible model!!! What can you do with a kitten. If they love you they move before you can finish focusing. Still love my baby,just can't hire her out as a model.

How did you guess. He also gets upset about my using his bed, is smarter than me and has almost figured out how to use a door nob and worst of all he is a bigger and better flirt with the human ladies than I am. I take him to this realy cute female vet and he acts extra friendly and extra adorable. Great I am jealous of my cat. But it is really cool to wake up in the morning and find my baby boy curled up next to my head with his head resting on his paws and with such a cute look on his face that i almost go into diabetic coma its so sweet. Yikes I have turned into one of those crazy cat people. :!:

I have probably mentioned this before. Cats were worshiped in some cultures ie. Egypt, they have not forgotten this. When I was a lad I was given a black kitten. When fully grown he weighed 35lbs. Not kidding and he wasn't fat, I think he must have been part Bobcat. All the dogs (and cats) were afraid of him but he loved people.
