These little ones were inside a very dirty glass case.

Canon 5DMKII, Sigma 150mm macro, MT24 twin flash in a Novoflex bracket. Handheld.

You definitely had his attention! Interesting color patterns on their bodies and how nice of him to smile for you. Thanks for showing me a new amphibian I haven't seen before!

They are cute little ones :)

I have a couple more, but they come under the heading "close but no cigar." Just missed on the DOF. :?

We will going back this weekend. We will park there (Cleveland Botanical Gardens) and walk to the Art Museum and then go back to do some shooting in the dessert and rain forest rooms.

Some more.

1. See what I mean about the DOF? The eyes are out. I isolated the subjects a bit too much.

2. From the Cleveland zoo.

I love the prospective of this first shot. Great composition. It could be a bit sharper but it's a wonderful image.

Frogs are amazing creatures. I've never seen "milk" frogs before. Very interesting and cute. You did well taking these images through a dirty glass case.

They are called milk frogs because of the milky poison they exude from their skin. I will be going there this weekend, I'll get a shot of the glass house they live in so you can see how dirty the glass is. I will then tell you how I can get good shots through it.

It's so hard to achieve a good DOF when you are so close. I try all the time. I have a 105mm lens that helps but it takes practice, practice, practice to get this right.
I still love the photo.
