Gas prices in my neck of the woods are the lowest they've been in at least 4-5 years. I'm sure that's true all over the country. Funny, I haven't heard a single conservative give credit to President Obama for lowering gas prices. They're the first to blame him when gas skyrockets, but are strangely silent now.

Let's face it, the president has absolutely NOTHING to do with the price of gas. If gas fell to 99 cents a gallon, or went to $5.00 a gallon, nothing the president does has any effect on prices. It's all about commodities trading. Plain and simple. We're drilling more than ever before, and prices remained high until recently when demand fell. People like the Koch Brothers who control the commodities markets are responsible for the prices we pay for gas, for corn, for pork, and lots of other things.

I predict that your pitiful diatribe will achieve ZERO traction;
you are just one more clueless liberal who has fallen under the "spell" of the biggest liar, and the most worthless scumbag ever to be elected to office in the U.S. For anyone attempting to explain why everything you've said is a mindless "crock of crap", would be about as useless as attempting to explain quantum mechanics to a worm.

Actually, after thinking about it, I'm guessing that attempting to "train" a worm would probably be easier that trying to explain to a liberal that he's "full of crap"! (so I won't bother)

Still smarting from the electoral loses in 2008 and 2012, I see. It must make your life a living hell to be so angry all the the time. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Is that all you got? What a pussy.

Actually for the most part you are correct in what you say, but when the government regulation inhibits development or recovery of a commodity then the price will go up, but yes, futures contracts probably have more influence on the price of gas than president Obama's daily activities, that is not to say that he could not propose policies that would further reduce the price of gas.

Blurreyed we agree on something. You forgot to mention refining capacity. The oil companies to a large extent control refining and when the change from gas to oil for heating occurs prices also are effected.

Additionally, considering the US will be energy independent in a few years is having an effect. Unfortunately or fortunately NG and Gas/oil products are international commodities and will be sold on the open market and thus price will reflect world demand or lack of it.

You are really pitiful, a really crappy response would normally be called for after reading your post. Not any more, I honestly feel sorry for you, sorry for you to have so much anger in your heart and soul.

Geff, have you looked at the price of crude oil?
Have you noticed what is happening with the market?
These are the reason gas prices are down along with no longer having to make the summer blend.

Wow! This is a first for me! I find myself fundamentally agreeing with both Tschmath and Ole!

Actually, I've come to realize that Tschmath is a very intelligent and thinking man, though I don't happen to agree with his political views very often. And that's ok.

BUT OLE!?!!??

I think I need another shot of Nicaraguan rum.......

Bet it is good! When I was in Venezuela I was drinking a bunch of different rums I had never heard of and it was all better than what you can get here and there it was 1/4 the price of what you would expect to pay here.

One of several factors contributing to the sharp drop in global oil prices in recent months has been optimism about a deal over Iran's nuclear capabilities.

You remind me a lot of that other "long distance" name-caller, Konk; I made Konk an "offer", and I'll make you the same offer; first though, let me point something out to you that you don't seem to have ever learned; "never call anyone something behind his back, that you wouldn't say to his face"; (or you MAY find yourself "face to face";)

I really don't have the time or inclination to engage in childish name calling with fools, over the internet; I much prefer to say anything I have to say, face to face; fortunately for me, I'm able to get to any city in the U.S. that has a major airport, at no cost; if you would care to try your hand at calling me a "pussy" to my face, I can definitely arrange it! I will be more than happy to meet you half way; maybe even 3/4 of the way; if you'll take me up on my offer, I'm very confident that I can break you of your BAD HABIT, once and for all; if you are as big a coward as Konk obviously is, you'll continue with your petty name calling from "long distance"; (which will prove that what I just said is true.......that you ARE a coward. So loudmouth....put up or shut up !
