B&H (and I'm sure, others) are offering the Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS for $349. I paid a LOT more, and don't regret it. I had the 18-270 Tamron and returned it but the Sigma has been extremely capable and satisfying and for this price especially can't be beaten Canon 18-135, eg, is $549).

I don't know why these unusually good bargains are cropping up, but I'm glad they are. (There's this Sigma 50-500 I couldn't resist if the price gets right ....)

Nothing special, that's the everyday price no matter where you buy that lens right now.

Instead of worrying about a new lens, and playing zoom, get a 50mm prime and learn how to take pictures.

You need knowledge to give advice. What he gives is grief.
A keyboard is a terrible thing to waste! ;-)

You have a real problem, sir/mam.... are you simply incapable of offering advice relevant to the OP?

That's a really horrid reply cthahn, and more than unhelpful. Why are all your replies so negative and undermining? How do you know that the OP isn't already a really good photographer anyway? Does putting people down all the time make you happy? These are rhetorical questions: that means they don't need a reply. And I hope, 0627ramran32, that you get your Sigma 50-500 one of these days. :o)

CT, thanks for the great advice.
I had a zoom lens that I played zoom with and my pictures always came out really, really crappy. So I got a 500mm prime, and WOW, what an improvement. You should see my pictures now(actually better to NOT see them), they are just really crappy.
I think I can improve them more. Do you recommend a shorter prime, or a longer prime. CT, which lens would be better?
I would be ecstatic if my pictures were to be JUST crappy!
Thanks, SS
