The problem of monthly payment plans is you lose access to anything you've saved on that program if you fail to make payments. It's called "gotcha".
I wonder what that $9.99 figure is going to be in a couple of years.

100% not true. As long as you save your work as a TIFF or JPG, any photo software an read those files. Many can even read PSD files.

And people keep brining up the, "wonder what it will be in the future?" I have the answer: IT WILL GO UP!!! So will the price of bread, of coffee, of your next car, stamps, a gallon of milk.

What's the big deal? Go use Gimp.

I think that if you read the posts carefully, it's not a matter of the cost but a matter of not having any residual benefit when one decides to stop renting.

Why should there be residual benefits?

I don't have any residual benefits if I quit paying my electric bill, or my car payment, or my house payment.................

Hmmmm. Maybe the software industry is simply catching up with life in general!

If they keep making them as a stand alone I guess you might think its a better deal to just pay full price to upgrade. As it is, I can upgrade from cs5 to 7 and LR 4 to 5 for ten bucks. how sweet is that? Im guessing thats worth a couple of years of 10.00 a month

Thanks for setting me straight on that.
The info I received came from a source I thought was reliable. My bad, and I'm sorry for submitting that statement. Some call it "kidneys for brains".

I have been a PSE user since PSE 1 and will continue to upgrade with every second version available. If/when Adobe stops making PSE available for reasonable purchase price, I will continue using the last purchased version until it is no longer functional when I will change to another product.

bersharp, just wondering what other product you are going to switch to? just a thought, but if you get an older version of cs on ebay, you can upgrade to the current version for 10 bucks. just make sure you have the serial number (I think that's what you need)
