I was inspired by Ed Ruscha's famous book "Some Los Angeles Apartments" and drove around taking some pictures on a day off. Given the inspiration, am I on the right track?

Here's another, I don't think these make sense out of series.

The first one is relatively strong because of how the light fell on the building. I get what your doing here. What I dont get is why you used the brenizer method to achieve this "flat" dof.

The second image is harder for me to look at. Possible that its too boring, or that you let Lightroom over correct the perspective. Maybe next time use a CPL to avoid window reflections.

I have to say, I don't get Ed Ruscha's photographs, so I wouldn't be able to comment on yours. I'll see if there is somebody around who know about this type of photography.

Ive seen Eds work up close and personal. This is close but something just isnt right. Art Grandpa, I notice you like Robert Adams. I like him too.

I'm not familiar with the art you mention. Looking at Nightski's link, however, gives me a clue as to what he was about. I think your first photo comes very close. I think the light, however, is quite harsh. Nice idea to look at someone's established art and then try to emulate it.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, the first one is a little too harsh, an effect of me being too heavy-handed on the curves. I'll revisit it.
