But do you think you have the right to convert the world to Christianity? And if you do, how can you say that Muslims are wrong for wanting to convert the world to Islamm?

Is the Desire to Convert folks to Christianity a "Right" or just a following of what the Christian is part of, what being a Christian is. If, Wellhiem, I would come to your door and tell you I wanted to speak to you about Christ... You have two options... Yes, please come in and speak to me or Leave my doorstep and never come back.... Two Simple options... and either option would be obeyed by me.

This Forum is, for the most part, divided into Liberals and Conservatives... Each side vehemently argues their side, often with inappropriate words and comments, but the OBJECT of the arguments are to sway each other to Our side which we BELIEVE is the BETTER side..

Christians do nothing less. We believe that we have a better way, we would like to see the entire world believe the same, therefore we witness.... But we do not coerce. When you are offered salvation as to the Christian belief, you have a free will to accept or refuse... ALWAYS YOUR DECISION. not the one bringing the message.

After this I have written is posted, there will be an immediate and predictable flurry of nasty comments and words of hurt (they hope) posted. The knowledge of Christian Beliefs and actions of the Non Believers on this forum is amazing....... totally amazing... (excuse me I just bit my tongue...)

Mike

Apparently if a "Radical Islam" would ask you the similar question "DO YOU BELIEVE IN ALLAH" and you tell him to leave, he will, but you will be laying DEAD by your door .

I have an automobile, and in its Glovebox is an instruction manual.. written by ??? and it tells me what to do to keep my car running well and economically.... IF I ignore its rules...my car will expire..

In my house (and heart) I have an instruction book, it is called the Bible.. It has rules that regulate my life so that I do my best to live BETTER.... It does not tell me to scream at you that you are going to Hell. but it does tell me how I am to react to you and to all

1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Conversion isn't something that one person has the right to do to another, a conversion comes from within an individual seeking and longing for something missing!

A person needs to study and understand the whole Bible.
God knows your heart. You can not just say the right words.
Jesus laid it all out and if you look for it you will find it.
Going to church, saying prayers at mealtime, singing songs in Church and many other "religious activities" is not what saves you.

Is the Desire to Convert folks to Christianity a &... (show quote)

I always ask Jehovah's Witnesses in when they knock at my door. I always take the time to discuss religion with anyone who stops me in the street. I do my best to be a good person. Please do not quote The Bible at me in an attempt to prove that The Bible is true. That is just a very circular argument.

Wellheim...
The scripture was not intended to try to PROVE the Bible is true...

IT is and was a Scripture that attempted (I assume without understanding) that as a Christian, I attempt to live by that particular scripture...Not always with success, but at least with intent.

Believers seem to think I can choose to believe what my intellect tells me is false. How am I supposed to be able to do that? Where is my free choice? Maybe it takes a suspension of reality, like in the movies, but I can't do that forever. Emotionally, I would LOVE to be a believer. Intellectually, I know that ain't gonna happen.

Then you have made a choice, right?

Wrong! I had no choice.. Belief doesn't come out of a faucet. You can't just turn it on, even if you wish you could.

wellhiem, Hell (a permanent separation from God) is because people reject God, not because of what they do.

Hmmm...according to many Christians, all of you, as well as Adolf Hitler and Jeffrey Dahmer, can get in to Heaven as long as you ask forgiveness before you die. So there's still time! The Mormons even believe that you can be Baptized (or blessed, or whatever they do) AFTER you die so that your soul can move in to Heaven. Now THAT's a sweet deal!

SB, Yes you are right, genuine repentance, asking for forgiveness and asking Jesus into your life will get you eternal life with God. But Heaven is a temporary home. The Christian hope is a new physical body on the new Earth. As for time, the time is now as you do'nt know how much time you have!

Wellhiem, Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all the world, so it is a
command. Jesus never compelled people to follow him and neither do we.
Islam is a forced religion.

I know that you didn't ask me, but I'd like to chime in Wilhelm...

The short answer is; yes.

Sin is sin, and we are all doomed according to what the bible says about it.

You listed a few things that you've done...lol...if you only knew what I've done and am capable of you'd blush bright red....and so would I.

In fact...we'd all (if we're honest with ourselves) shrink down to nothing if the world knew what we have thought and done in our lives...every one of us every day.

The Christian viewpoint is that all are guilty, God is holy, but merciful and has made a way that humans can escape punishment.

I know that people poo poo the Christian viewpoint but in a nutshell...that's it.

We all (even Atheists) believe SOMETHING...we all have BELIEFS even if we don't call them that, that's what they are. We hold certain things to be true, though not provable, and upon that basis, evaluate all other things.

Hopefully that answered your question.
