Cold morning in Scotland
I thought you didn't take landscape, JR. You have captured the mood of a cold morning at the train station perfectly. Nicely done.
Good looking shot there, love the way the 2 trains frame the fresh untouched snow and how it leads off to the distance.
A simple but captivating photo.
Perfect title for this picture. That is exactly how I felt upon viewing. The converging lines of the trains are very effective. My biggest concern is with the lamppost. It is a very nice element in the picture but I wish there's was a little more space to the left of it. I would also suggest enhancing the pink of the sky ever so slightly. The curl of smoke (or exhaust) is really very nice and important to the composition.

Brrrrr! I like the bridge at the thirds intersection, it makes the photograph work. To get no footprints in the snow was either a dive for camera shot or some very clever PP work. Either way good work.
I really like it. The way you shot this photo it gives the feel of the cold. The depth is great in my eyes.

I am NOT boasting, nor am I trying to show off, but I rarely look for or compose a shot, been taking shots too long, it was there, we had arrived for a train ride, took the photo.
EOS10D, yup 10D
Sometimes the best photos are the ones we weren't expecting , when oppurtunity arises its great to have the camera ready.

Too true, luck plays a great part in all photography, you could be a few minutes earlier/later and the clouds, people, cars, whatever in the photo you take either may not have come or may have already gone,
There is a photo on this forum of a snake I did.
On that day I was going to shoot surf, I literally could not be bothered and stayed home, went into the cemetery and saw the snake, NO camera, belted back in, changed lenses then spent fifteen minutes looking for it.......
Luck
Was shooting the heron when he was spooked and just took off all i could do was press the shutter and hope i got at least 1 good bif .
There is a lack of detail/information in the shadows. In the undercarriage and even affects the tree.
The lamp pole can be adjusted, but it would probaly take the maintenance crew to completely align the lamp and pole again.
Although I am not a stickler for sharpness, this being a train(s) it would be nice for it to be really detailed and sharp.
Even though it was an overcast, dreary day there is something missing.

A very nice JR. The soft colors make the image.

I think it leans down to the right. (Look at the bottom of the shed)
I don't see anything of interest to "grab" the eye.
It has a leading line which leads to ... nothing.
