I did post this in "Gallery" earlier but posting it in here will be more useful to me... I hope!

Graham, I like the the concept of this image. I like the expression on both the horse and the riders face.
I think the crop needs to be a little looser to include the whole cap, though this is minor in my opinion. The DOF bothers me the most. I wish the rider was in better focus. His expression is as intense as the horses and equally as important. I also look at the picture and feel the tension between the rider and the horse, almost as though they are at odds with each other.

Thank you Country's Mama, all of your comments are valid. The picture was taken with a 200mm f/2.8 and 2x teleconverter at 300mm f/5.6 hand held. The horses are a long way of and you are not allowed to get closer. The image has been considerably cropped, but unfortunately, not the top. I'm not sure that I could have got focus on both the faces, I'm happier with the horse in focus rather than the other way round. There you have my excuses :-)

I agree with Country's Mama regarding the tension between the rider and horse and think it helps make the photo an appealing one. The only suggestion I have would be to try a portrait orientation for another perspective. 8-)

Thanks Bmac. I'm a bit stuck with this one as it's been cropped considerably on both sides, there is nothing much more top or bottom.
