Does it tell a story? If it does, what story does it tell? What do you read into the image?

A pretty girl waving farewell to her lover after a long night of partying. Or she's calling a sidewalk waiter over for a refill. Interesting shot.

Mike, you are taking it at face value, look at the hand holding the glass, there's a clue there.

I think she's listening to her ipod and she's dancing. Graham, your street photography is really something. You have composed this one perfectly. The b&w is done well. Thank you for sharing.

So she's been smoking and drinking (unless you put the smoke there!) and she's just a wee bit tiddly. First thought is 'enough, I'm off' but she's a natural woman so she changes her mind and decides to stay and get noticed. But not without a drink. Sorry. My mind plays games sometimes. Would you tell her that someone did notice? And that she deserves to be in one of your photos!
Mike.
ps - maybe her other hand looks like that too. The rest of her doesn't though. Or did she just have e really good surgeon?

I think so, too. Which, if correct, is why you titled her "Out." It's a terrific shot, and there are so many stories there, some perhaps sad (I think, if we are correct that this young woman is a transsexual, that it's a really rough row to hoe), and maybe she's a little tiddly, and she shouldn't smoke…

Good shot! Great story!

Your are correct Chuck.

I will set the scene for this image.

London, Great Compton Street, Soho.

I saw subject "come out" from a club and start to walk in my direction. I raised my camera, the subject spotted me and struck a pose while still walking. The whole episode, including me taking the picture, lasted less than three or four seconds. The subject had the confidence to "come out" onto the street, strike the pose for the camera, but then wasn't confident enough to look into the lens.
