Flowers at Sunset, Grand Canyon, AZ

Using a Canon EOS 40D for the first time, shooting flowers near the visitors center at the Grand Canyon. I liked the contrast of the rusty chain and the furry flowers in the first pic. Then I focused on the furry flowers with the purple background flowers blurred then reversed it with the purple background flowers in focus. Was just messing around seeing how things turn out, I'm pleased with these shots. I'm sorry about the vague, non-scientific names of the flowers...

Your sense of depth of field is fantastic! Nice series. :)

Thanks for the comment katwilphoto! I'm a very casual photographer that joined this site to become a more polished photographer by learning more of the technical aspects. Your comments make me feel like I might accidentally know what I'm doing, sort of... I feel like I'm at least on the right track. :D
