Here's more of close up of some of the build-up in a Yellowstone hot pool. As with the others I'd appreciate comments on how to improve, including visuals. BTW I also would appreciate comments along the line of, "Don't use that one...no way to make it substantially better!"

PS: The theme this month is macro. You don't have to submit a themed one but I usually try to do one each print and projected. This one might qualify. It is a close-up although not with a macro lens per se.

Hi MtnMan. I don't think this one qualifies as a macro entry. Personally, I would keep it, but probably not submit this one. I cropped, auto-sharpened, and added vignetting. Couldn't think of anything else bright to do. :-P

Thanks!

I don't know what makes one a macro. The verticals are maybe an inch on this one.

My wife has a great macro lens. I think I'll see what I can find to try it on. Alas the bug life has pretty much cleared out for this year. It snowed yesterday.

Too bad there is nothing in the photo to give a sense of scale. Just looking at it, it's hard to tell that the verticals are so small. This one is certainly a close up, if not a macro.

The overall photo looked 'flat' to me. I tried to increase the contrast and saturated the colors somewhat. What do you think?

Yes, makes it "pop". Thanks.
