I have only been in this section of the forum for a very short while, but I am learning much about composition, light, color, post processing to name a few; and it is just by reading your comments and suggestions to good photographers. Most likely I will not post to this section for a long time, but love what I am seeing and I am gaining a better understanding with each and every post. Know that many, like me, are reading and learning. Keep it up!!!

Step up and post a few photos! As you can see, the critique has been constructive and quite good I think so far, whether one agrees or not. :)

I absolutely do not want to lower the expectations of images on this section. I am learning too much to jeopardize the section. I know the expertise will get watered down as time goes on, but not by me. If I think one is a wall hanger, I will certainly ask for opinion for improvement, but so enjoying all the responses right now. Thank you for reading my applause to you all!

Don't be afraid to post. It is a great way to learn. Post what you think is your best shot. We are all at different levels and it helps the ones a little further a long to help those not so far down the road.

Country's Mama you are always such an encourager. I really want to learn, and I am. I will post when I have something good enough?

May I suggest that you don't wait to "have something good enough". You don't need that much help with those "good enough" photos, just print 'em and frame 'em. Where help is most helpful is with those photos that you really hoped would be good but didn't turn out like you wished. We all have lots of those.

I really do not want this section to go by the wayside and it might if it is watered down by substandard images. It is too valuable to me in learning. I prefer solid critiques that I've seen here without any additional stuff. So I will post if I want to frame one and need help. Otherwise I will read in the background.
You have strong advise, "You don't need that much help with those "good enough" photos, just print 'em and frame 'em. Where help is most helpful is with those photos that you really hoped would be good but didn't turn out like you wished." I think that is golden advise for folks like myself and I thank you. Please keep your frame worthy images coming.

You might change your mind if I did post! By the way, you do a great job with your images.

Cant make a cake without breaking eggs, cant improve as a photographer if you are fearful of asking for people to give your work an honest look.

Listen.

Forget all that you have read and been told.

"photography is luck"

Being in the right place at the right time

Do not kid yourself we are all great photographers, some may believe they are, most will be honest and tell you that they are lucky, and that tethered with an understanding of photography gets photographs.

I and many here have been into photography all our lives, NOT professionally.

I was never encouraged in either of my two hobbies by my parents just 2 all my life, astronomy and photography. As I hate the cold I prefer photography, rather than standing in the cold all night.

I started with a Kodak instamatic 25, Praktica SuperTL, Nikkormat, Nikon F and so on. We like me, learnt from "doing" no forums.

Get out, shoot shoot shoot, and POST. You have been told
