Inside the general store/museum looking out towards the desert. This is a photographers paradise, definitely recommend anyone near Nelson, NV check this place out!
I remember using a scale like that when I worked in the meat department of a small grocery store in a resort town. Lean ground beef was 69 cents/lb and chickens were 49 cents/lb.
This photo makes me feel what it must of been like to live in that time , and the feeling I would get looking out this window then . Thanks for sharing , it gave me a warmth inside . I colored some of my great grandma , my great aunt , grandma and other family photos that were taken back about this time or later . It would be nice to be able to travel back and live in their shoes , if even if it was for a short time . Thanks for posting this photo that gave me this feeling again ....Tommy
Brian, thanks for the comment, glad to bring back the memories! I worked in a gas station way back when, gas was less than $1 a gallon... Miss those good old days
Tommy, thank you for the very kind words, I'm glad this picture evoked such strong emotions in you. I love everything about this little place. I love looking at the old pictures, thinking about the people who lived and worked here at the mines, the first settlers, it has a wonderful history.
Regards,
Karla
