KW Etui pocket 9x12 folder with Nazi history!

This is probably the coolest camera that has come my way in a LONG time. This item is a consignment from a customer and will be sold AS-IS due to its age, history and apparent condition.

My customer informs me that this camera kit belonged to her grandfather who was a WW II war photographer and did the majority of his travels via motorcycle in war zones. For this reason he required a very compact camera and a very durable case to survive the torturous conditions he would be encountering. He selected the KW Patent Etui for its compact size, large 9x12cm plate back (that's almost 4" x 5" size), interchangeable 6x9cm film pack back (that I don't think is KW, but has been adapted), and included ground glass back for accurate focusing. He them fashioned a custom carrying case for this gear out of aircraft aluminum and riveted it all together, added a leather strap system and protected the rounded, hinged lid with heavy leather. The case is compartmentalized inside to keep each component from banging against the others and the compartments are leather lined for added protection. This is a really cool setup when you consider its use!

The camera is in good shape overall, all things considered. The bellows are in great shape, as is the light seat where the backs attach. The lens is a Kodak Compur Anastigmat 124mm F4.5, 3 blade shutter that functions but its accuracy is untested. The glass lens is in pretty good shape but I can see a couple specs of what appears to be dust inside it, not sure. The outer leather is worn but intact and in surprisingly good condition. There is a Serial Number on the camera and it says 37065. The lens board has rise and tilt capability. There is a bubble level beside the viewfinder glass but the fluid has been lost but the glass and level itself are in good shape. The viewfinder glass is also good condition.

VERY COOL is the fact that the 6x9cm pack film back still has 7 sheets of Kodak Tri-X film in it! I have no idea if this film is still any good and I would not want to shoot it as I have no way to develop it here, but I am betting it would still produce an image if someone had developing capability.

This would be a GREAT collector made even more valuable by the custom, hand-crafted case it will come it.

$250 will include USA shipping.

Wish I could purchase MT but times are hard right now. Good answer to the bird.
