Spending some October Sunday's at Hampton Beach, NH
My Beach
As a snapshot of a fun day, it is cute, though I sure wish I could see that gorgeous dog better :)
lower angle would have included the buildings and brought depth to the image as well as provided an enhanced point of view for the pooch.
(damn I miss cowhampshire, lived there 22 years)
I agree with getting lower and maybe earllier in the morning or later in the evening. In this shop a fill flash or some type or reflector would have helped bring out the detail in the dog.
If I had made it, I'd have moved in much closer to crop to the edges of his namenothing but dog, name, and sand, and pop a fill flash on it to open the shadow. I tend to think the buildings are a distraction. I think there is potential here. :-)
