St. Michael Archangel

This a statue of the patron saint of Tegucigalpa. I took it with the sun behind in order to get reflected light in front, which worked pretty well, but the sky is an ugly teal color. Does anyone know how I can make the sky a real blue?

I know how to do it in Photoshop Elements 11, it is probably something similar in other programs. In PSE11, one would go to the Enhance Color box, and slide the color bar in "Hue" over toward the right until the sky loses the aqua tint and turns sky blue. That is all. Done.

If you think that sky is teal, better recalibrate your monitor.

I see some banding in the blue of the sky. Too much curve adjustment? Maybe add some noise--1-2%

Good Capture another shot perhaps during storm or at night would provide a better atmosphere.

I was thinking exactly the same as Mogul. On my carefully calibrated monitor that sky is a perfectly lovely sky blue, not at all teal. In fact the whole picture looks just fine on my monitor. Once some time ago I was using a CRT monitor and discovered a little late that, not only was it out of calibration, but it would no longer calibrate. The "grr" factor went up several notches when I replaced it with a beautiful, carefully calibrated flat screen, to discover that every single file I had ever "corrected" now had to be done completely over. Pain. in. the. ——

In CS you just select the sky, You can chose to pick a small section, then select similar. I would keep it separated from the statue and possibly the clouds.

Then you can go in play with color adjustment. You should be ok from there.
