I intentionally leaned towards the artsy side in the finale shot.

Before

After

Well done!

The "Before" is a bit dull - both in color and contrast. You successfully tackled this problem with "After", turning it into a very compelling photo. I noticed you removed a few unwanted elements from the original image, and you certainly did a fine job there as well. A very well balanced composition, if I may add.

Thank you rook :)

I used this "missed" shot to see what the newly acquired CS5 and Topaz programs could do. That was about 4 years ago. I have been well pleased with the artistic flexibility that these programs grant.

Absolutely gorgeous PP work. You made a floral masterpiece out of a dark, drab shot.

That's some lovely image, #2. I love it! My eyes are a bit different from yours, so I cropped your original, adjusted the lighting for highlights, backgrounds and mid-level contrast and got this. Hope you don't mind that I altered your beautiful image http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/compose_reply.jsp?topicnum=160080&postnum=2704728#">http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/compose_reply.jsp?topicnum=160080&postnum=2704728#http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/compose_reply.jsp?topicnum=160080&postnum=2704728#

Interesting take. That is what art is all about. Each person has their own vision :)

You do not find the partial flower in the lower right corner a distraction from the main subjects?

Yessir, art is in the eye of the beholder. I chose that particular crop as the red partial on top and the white partial below tend to frame and cause the vector to the subject. Well that's my story and I'm sticking with it...
