I didn't know they made any other 100mm-400mm.
The 400mm I purchased is the 5.6.

Didn't know that Canon made a 5.6, 400mm lens. Must be an older one.

Can't be a fixed and zoom. Somewhere there is a mistake. Cannon makes the 400mm fixed and a 100 -400mm zoom.

I guess I assumed too much in my brief description.
I have a 100mm-400mm for sale, which is stated in the heading.
I purchased a 400mm 5.6 to replace it. Is this clearer?

Well, I personally like the fact, that you let us know, why your 100-400mm is for sale. I could not see anything wrong with the way you described it. Have fun with your new 400, it is a super (IMHO) lens!!

You want to sell your refurbished Canon 100-400mm lens and you purchased a 400mm lens that needed fixing? or did you get a 400mm prime lens.

Wow, I don't understand the confusion, he did say right away, that he got himself a 400mm prime (the 5.6) and that is the reason, that he is selling the 100-400 (because he does not need it anymore, despite it being the more versatile lens).

And despite multiple prompts, he has still not given any details of the lens he is selling! I am not in the market at all, but I have been hanging on to this thread, just to see if he would say *something* about it...
