Emma was fascinated by a spider spinning her web while playing in the backyard playground. I just thought her intensity was priceless.

Spider fascination

Great portrait! I wonder in a few years if she will be equally fascinated, or turn squeamish anytime a spider crawls anywhere near her? I've often wondered how it is that young girls pick up an aversion to creepy-crawly things that don't seem to bother young boys at all.

Thank you, you have no idea how much your positive response means to me. I try all the time and I get only a few images that I feel are pretty good.
On a side note, as a 4th grade elementary teacher (years ago), I had a cow heart for kids to see, feel, and see how blood flowed. The boys would not touch it, the girls, however; put there fingers through and played with it! I am not sure it is not a taught response for girls to scream at stuff. My grandson did bring in a scorpion from outside in his insect jar, now that did make ME a bit frightened. I stand amazed at nature and all the creatures within it. I so want to impart that to my young 'uns. Thanks again!

Rayford, who ever said that most likely did not raise females. They indeed can be sweet, but oh, how devious and covert in their retributions. Boys are generally, what you see is what you get, or in my experiences with raising both sexes, that is what happened. Boys fight and it is over then much of the times friends again, girls on the other hand hold grudges and retaliate in a much sneaker way. I do love my gals, they always make sure that I am taken care of or "Katy bar the door!" You will see their snarling teeth. :)

No need for any esteem issue with this pic. You have a lot to be proud of. Composition, subject matter, sharp focus. The look on her face is priceless. Good job.

That quote came from most of the girls that were in the 2nd and 3d grades. I doubt if they had any little ones of their own yet.....just pulling your chain :)
