So sorry I brought it up. Everyone, please forgive me.
Richard, I feel badly that we have upset you. I think you might feel jumped on. I admit that I get a little defensive on the subject of "P&S" because it's all I use, by personal choice, but I suspect sometimes that there could be at least a few Hoggers looking at my stuff and snickering a little, wondering why I don't go out and buy a "real" camera. Well, it's 'cuz I've used every "real" camera there is as a full-time professional (up until about 1994) so now I like having a boatload of stuff in one tiny boxa "compact" or "technically challenged" camera  (
Love that by the way!) I schlepped enough equipment in my time to wreck my back. All I want now is what the basic camera offers, plus maybe a circular polarizer once in a while. I started in 2007 with a pack-of-cards Nikon L-12.
I could not believe what that microscopic camera could do! I could even bias the EV, except at the time I was an
expose for the shadow guy so I blew out a lot of highlights with overexposure. But I really believe, as has been pointed out several times right in this thread, that
"It Ain't About Cameras." That said, I admit sometimes to feeling actually ashamed that all I use is a compact, but I just don't want a "big boy" camera. :?
There's been some agitation lately to break off different categories from the Main, and some of it does seem pretty silly (
MOGUL! :XD:   ) The most recent breakout is the Photo Critique & Analysis Forum, which I support as a good idea, but I agree that, as Mogul so hilariously points upWhere Does It Stop? :D So Richard, you may have accidentally kicked a hornet's nest, so please don't feel bad! ;)

OF COURSE, SOME SILLY PERSON WOULD WANT TO ADD A SUB-SUB-SECTION JUST FOR BODY COLOR.
HEY MOGUL! I RESEMBLE THAT! FIRST THING I WANT IS ONE O' THEM WHITE JOBS 'CUZ THEY ARE
KEWL!
Mogul, we'd need to start a few sub-categories for you as well:
Sarcasm
Satire
Biting Humor
Flay the Messenger
All in all, though, well thought out. I especially like "Body Color"

I don't believe there are that many laughing at your camera, especially once they see the quality photos you take with it.
Any camera in skilled hands is going to take a better photograph than a top model in unskilled hands.

Thank you, Searcher! That's very kind, and I appreciate it! :-)

There should be a special section here for the point & shooters to show there pictures, so they can be viewed separately aside from the DSLR.
Just my thought. Anyone behind me?
Richard I once suggested a new section for "American Politics", keep it locked and throw away the key. You think you got some stick? Whole trees complete with bedding clay came my way - and I was only joking. That lot had no sense of humour. :(
The like the break down that Wahawk wrote.
Looks like this could be another DP. site.

I need to explain myself before I get lynched. I meant the color of the CAMERA body. We seem to have all the colors of the rainbow, especially in P&S cameras. As to "Sarcasm" I plead guilty. For "Satire" and "Biting Humor" I thank you. For "Flay the Messenger" I beg your forgiveness; I meant to address the concept, not the individuals who have brought up the subject NOR those who have implemented the spin-offs.
