Church at night...
Muted fall colors frame this nighttime shot of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons, Kansas.
The structure measures 58' wide, 145' long and the tower is 165' tall. The largest bell in the tower weighs right at one ton. When the church was completed and dedicated in September, 1900, it had a seating capacity of 800.
It was built in Roman style on a sandstone foundation and basement with the rest of the structure being built of red brick. The church was complemented with a large pipe organ that cost $2,000 and stained glass windows that were created by the St. Louis Glass Company.
