This chickadee has been around my backyard for several years. I will find some earlier pictures of her/him and post them for you. The beak deformity is common and spreading among those birds found in Alaska and other northern climes. I have one of her just after leaving the nest as a juvenile and others as the upper beak grew longer and longer. I think she is now five years old so obviously it is not a life threatening deformity. She is very adapt at using the upper beak to snag food from the suet feeder.
Gosh, that's an incredible thing. Wonderful to know she's adapted and thrived in spite of it.

So glad he/she has conquered this oddity. Keep plenty of food available & thanks for posting. Don't forget the water too.
great shot of something out the ordinary as previously stated above great to know she has learnt to survive with a bill like that.
