I've only been into photography for about 2 years. As I'm finding myself and learning I find myself photographing mostly birds, wildlife and flowers. My biggest draw is close up and macro. I'm always drawn to tiny things wanting to get them on the screen to see what our naked eyes are missing out on. I'm drawn to those for some reason. Tiny details are my passion. Sure I take shots of many other things, but always end up shooting those certain types over and over again (I'm not very good at it yet though).

What really speaks to you? What's your photographic passion?

Color. Whether it be landscapes, birds, bugs, flowers. The way light hits the colors.

I do all the usual. But nore recently I'm into constructing portraits using models (people). The sky is the limit, along only with your imagination. It's part of my plan for the next phase of my photography.

For me, it's variety. Anything from landscapes, wildlife, abstract patterns, trick photography, street photography, macro, architecture, plants, to sports. Color and black & white. Digital and film. I think I would get bored rather quickly if I restricted myself to a limited subject matter or style! Although I do seem to go through phases whereby I concentrate more on one specific type of photography or technique. I'm always learning something new and I love challenges.

I'm familiar with the macro section. I haven't been doing a lot since I got my new camera because I don't have a macro lens or any close up lenses for this set up yet.

I love a portrait where the lighting is exceptional. I'm not good with lighting yet.

I've seen a lot of your work here. You are quite talented. Your advice is always helpful too.

Photos, mostly snapshots, of my friends, family, and places which will forever inspire happy memories of the times I have had and places I have been. I know it sounds trite, but I would willingly surrender all my so called technically correct and visually interesting images to keep possession of my dog eared snaps. That is my photographic passion.....memories. 8-)

The light.

So many "normal" scenes and subjects can look absolutely stunning in the right light - usually the first hour or two after sunrise and the last hour before sunset. And related to that: backlit and silhouettes.

I've seen some awesome abstract patterns and trick photography shots. I've tried a few, but I get frustrated easily and have to take a break before trying again. I'm always reading and asking questions trying to learn. I can't imagine a day without learning something new.

Light. Catching the light with the camera the same way my eyes see it is a big challenge. And memories, they are frozen moments in time that can bring the whole experience, the sights, sounds, happiness or sadness of the day back like you are there again.

I'm working on technical skills but what I want to achieve is emotional impact.

I agree with the light aspect. I've tried and tried and have not yet succeeded in that area.

I'm working on technical skills at the moment as well. Achieving emotional impact will definitely be a goal eventually.
