I recently bought the student edition of Lightroom 3. Any suggestions as to on-line tutorials or printed material that will help me ease into getting it set up and use. My current organization of photos is a mess. Many of the on-line tutorials assume prior knowlege and more so fast that they are not helpful. Thanks.
Buy Scott Kelby's book on Lightroom 3. Just Google Lightroom 3 tutorials on the web. There's dozens, several free. One is particular, also free, is under
www.slrlounge.com. The online free stuff plus Scott's book is all you need.

Calbaby, I would recommend Lynda.com training videos, Scott Kelby Video Training and books, Julieanne Kost website, Adobe Website, and YouTube. Arnold

I've used the free tutorials at the adobe site and found them usefull for a novice (like me). I will look for the Kelby book though.
Scott Kelby's book is a great one on most anything photography. He heads up an organization known as NAPP, National Association of Photoshop Users. The guy he has on staff that writes articles in the magazine they publish about every two months, Photo Shop User, features articles by Matt Kosklowski in each issue there is a section devoted to Lightroom. To subscribe to NAPP is $100. But the features tutorials and how toos are great. By joining you also can receive member discounts on software and hardware, and access to video tutorials available to NAPP members.
Also an update to Lightroom was released, so check you version and when you are in Lightroom click on the HELP section at the top of menu bar and click on check for updates, it will take you to Adobe website where you can update to the latest and greatest version.
You can also go to Adobe TV @
http://tv.adobe.com/ there is a wealth for vids that deal with how toos and help.
The learning curve for Lightroom is not severe, once you get some of the basics down you will wonder "How did I ever get all my images in one place without Lightroom"
