Home to many tiny critters - or final resting place?

I posted a similar shot to Photo Gallery a few days ago, but the "scene" so captivated me I had to go back and get another a few hours later.

If you click download, you will find at least a couple of dozen insects and spiders in this grass; they were so small you couldn't even see with naked eye :) I'm sure my neighbors thought I was nuts for taking these pictures!

Canon SX50, macro mode.

It amazes me to think that for these creatures this may be the only world they know never realizing there is so much more out there.
Thank you for sharing.

What delightful comments! Actually, I think most were the minge-type flying insects that were out in force that very warm day. They knew freedom 'til they got caught in the sticky needles :)

Thank you Gregory! I was attracted to the grass that was back-lit by early a.m. light. Didn't even know about the critters 'til I looked at on computer. Then I just had to go back for another shot :)

Very well composed and seen Linda. I really like it. What you have there are aphids (orange) and the white "insects" are in fact shed skins from the aphids.
