Question for all, not a criticism.
I do not have reflectors, so I am trying to learn from other's photos.
Would the image show more depth if it was not so evenly illuminated? I like the softness but I like more depth as well.

69 cents at Dollar Store buys white craft paper = reflector. Yellow gives warm reflection. Mirrors = also And Yes to ?

Yes, flat lighting kills depth. Sometimes that is what you want but usually, getting the light source off to one side a higher than the subject is what we want. It is the shadows that define the face.

This image has the light just barely high enough to give us some shadows under her nose and cheeks, so it is not all THAT flat.
