Great shot of the heron. I love shooting birds. Florida has so many types.
Curious what a black and white conversion might look like. Maybe too much simple gray, but give it a go. :-D

Have to say I have extremely limited experience with B&W. Been meaning to get into it a bit. I'll see what I can do with this shot.
Just an idea I got for B&W with Elements, but I'm sure applies to CS5. Apply a Back and White gradient adjustment layer. After that, add a Levels adjustment layer, but adjust each color rather than the whole (Master).
You can also try one of the trial versions of programs such as onOne's Perfect Black and White or NIK's bundle which include Silver Efex Pro. Both of those are pretty cool.

This may make you laugh but even though I have had CS5 since it first came out I have no idea how to use it other than for sharping, Content Aware, and The topaz plug-ins :lol:
