Is this an acceptable image for this section?

This is my first composite it was created Photoshop CC using 3 photos. 1. was one I took in LA from the 23rd floor at the Ritz Carlton using a long exposure. 2. was taken when I went to Hawaii and visited Kalapana viewing area. 3. was a photo of molten Lava I got from the web. I had to use several different brushes, several layers, and layer adjustments to achieve the end result.

I created this for a class project in the Photoshop course I am attending in college. I kind of like how it came out and I want to do more. C & C welcome.

Bubble cities, storms and volcanic eruptions - this is not about technical competence but foretelling of a future that must not happen.
Your composite is art as are the other images on your web site. They are interesting, different and show you have a natural talent for using the tools of Photoshop. I would like to see more, and if possible a little bit more detail about how you achieved the end results.

Yes you are correct it's not HDR. And it's definitely different..LOL However I do love HDR and have done a lot of it. Before UHH I had never heard of it.

Thank you...Yes I hope that this is not our fate! As for detail let's see. I use Photoshop CC and I took Photo 1 (the volcano) and used it as a background. Photo 2 (LA) I put on a separate layer and merged the two together using layer masks. Once I got them where I liked them I put the 3rd layer (lava) between the two and filled the lake.

I added the clouds and lightning with the use of different paint brushes all on separate layers. The domes are also a bubble paint brush which provided the luminosity I needed so I just erased the bottom half of the bubble which made the dome.

I added a layer adjustment which gave me the dark gloomy look. Then I added the spots where the lightning strikes as my last step again with a paint brush tool

I will thanks for looking and the nice comment... My "Creativity" is just beginning to develop, when I started here at UHH I wouldn't have ever imagined I would have done that or have the ability to do it. I just keep looking at other people's work (on a variety of different sites), reading, watching tutorials, trying different things. I am actually taking an Online Digital Imaging course in college right now which has helped a lot.

Just keep practicing is my best advice.

Thanks, I've been considering the class thing too. May I ask what other sites your getting inspiration from?

I pondered doing it for years because I only had Photoshop Elements and I finally decided to just go for it so I enrolled in the class and got a subscription for Photoshop Creative Cloud. I pay a monthly fee instead of having to buy it outright, plus I decided to get more than one of the Adobe programs too. I would always make excuses which kept me from signing up mainly because I didn't want to buy Photoshop because of the expense. I am so glad I did I have learned a ton so far and I am just scratching the surface of what a powerful program Photoshop is. If you are thinking about it and can afford to do it I suggest you go for it too.

Very nicely done.
A small suggestion, being as we have WW111, and all the strikes are from the sky, it suggests, attack from outer space, so why not some machine in the background, AKA, War of the worlds.
