Photos taken in Wiscasset Maine some 30 years ago. Scanned slides. These are the last of Maine's four mastered schooners, they were towed up the Sheepscot River to their final resting place. See link below for more info if interested. Thanks for looking.

Visited Wiscasset several times over the years. Photographed the hulks in the 80's early 90's.
Recently, a very good friend who also visited there many times over the years presented me with a handmade ballpoint pen made from wood salvaged from the wrecks. As a Somerset, MA native, he followed the ships' histories for many years.

I lived about 15 miles from here for 27 years. Used to visit them a lot. An arsonist set them on fire about 15 years ago and the remains were hauled away.

Man that's neat. I lived in Bangor for 5 years during the early to mid fifties. What a wonderful place to live at that time. My wife and two sons vacationed in the Boothbay Harbor for several years during the 80's, lots of fond memories!
