I'm going through my photos. I really like this one, and I want to put it in my favorites folder, but I would like to name it properly before I do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's one of the ubiquitous multitude of composites. The narrow petals look like daisy fleabane but the flower is apparently larger.

To make a definitive identification, I would need much more than just a picture of the flower. Useful information in identification of plants also includes where it was growing (climate), when it was growing (season), type of leaves, type of plant, type of seeds.

I don't recognize it. It might be helpful if you said how tall the flower is, i.e. how long is the stem that the bloom is on?

Also a photo showing some of the leaves would be helpful also.

You're welcome. I might not know photography but I know me some wildflowers. And please, just Swan. SS is Sharp Shooter and I wouldn't want people to think I wasn't a girl!! :) :) :)(or that I was a good photographer 'cause I ain't!!)

And I think these flowers are like hydrangeas...the soil they grow in determines the color. I had them all over my yard back home and some, near the creek with rich soil, would be so beautifully blue they were almost purple, but others, growing in rocky soil or fields, would be white. I always thought they were different varieties but they are all the same, just like hydrangeas.

Thanks, rlaugh, but you're the one that should know, because you're from my neck of the woods. :-)
