I took this shot at the end of the day. All of us were tired and ready to go home so I didn't spend much time taking it. When I got home and looked at it on the computer I was less than thrilled, but today I took a second look at it and tried a few different things. What do you think? I am open to any suggestions.

I personaly like the first one the best. Wish the mountain itself was so bright. Im not a huge fan of B&W buy it works ok. The last one alomost looks like the B&W with some editing. Nice shots i like the angle you shot from, kind of gave it some depth, something to guage the mountain by.

I think it's stunning! For me, the color version is by far the best because the different layers of lighting really capture the mountain's enormity compared to its surroundings.

#3 for me!!
I can see the mountain better.
This shot has caused me to rethink tone mapping for an image as in #1.
Now, If I can remember just this technique......
Thanks!
Pat

Whew! I was starting to think I was totally crazy. I really don't care for the color, but I really like the third one for the same reasons that you give. I love the detail that you get with the tone mapping, not only in the mountain, but in the foreground trees. But obviously we are in the minority.

Thank you for your opinion. The last one has been edited-a lot.

Thank you, I understand what you are saying and I like it ok, but I really like the detail and contrast in the third one.

When i first looked at these, I liked the way the tone mapping cut the atmospheric haze on the mountain, but I thought that the whitish halo around the foreground trees looked artificial, and the foremost trees look artificially bleached out to me. That's why I voted for the color image, which I still like.

I really like the original...but the last one really pops...so that's where my vote lies

I like l & 3, but I do have a question. I've never done tone-mapping. Is it possible to do a color version of #3? If so, I think that would be outstanding.
