I have shot a sunrise before with my Tamron 18-200 from this place. But since I wasn't standing in the exact spot, it's hard to compare the 12-24mm shots. Except for straightening, this is right out of camera. I used fill flash to open up the foreground. Not sure you'll be able to see, but there is blockage because of the wide lens. I did downsize the file for posting. Note: No clouds to help the scene this time.

The composition is centered both ways. Try several shots, some off center vertically, horizontally, and both. This may add even more interest to your work. An amazing scene.

You are so right. I did have other shots, not so centered, but I liked the bird in this one. Appreciate your comment. DJT
