I believe this is a very immature Eagle that was roosting in a tree along the marsh!

Looks like an Eagle

A little wind blown but still looks like and Eagle

Really looks like an Eagle in flight

Tom, it is a Bald Eagle and looks to be a first year bird. The all dark bill and head and the mottled pattern on the chest are good field marks.

its young but it takes them three years to get the black and white feathers

I watch the young eagles and the mature ones flying around together as if they are dog fighting in the air.

This year must have been quite good for eagle hatches since I have seen numerous 1st year birds out in the wildlife refuges.

Tom -- yea we have a lot around here also seems to be more every year . a indiean native got cought shooting them a few years back . they figured he shot more than 150 . the judge asked him why he was killing so many eagles . his answer was : well the white man shot all the buffalow , dident they . he was put on probation for a year . and that's all . you or I do something like that . we would still be locked up .

there all nuts any way . there was another nut case who broke into the pink
flamingo lock up at the stanly park zoo in Vancouver . and. slaughtered all of them . it looked like a sceine out of a jack the ripper movie . hekilled them all around fifty or more. they got , I think he got 6 months . then we had a pig farmer who used butcher and sell pigs . he was using hookers as a food source went by the name whilly Picton . google him
