I will certainly heed your advice, SS. At present, I don't have an alternative but I originally bought a Nikon because a great deal of professional photogs are carrying them. With that said, I know perfectly well that most of the skill happens behind the camera because, to this day, some of the best pictures I have ever taken were done with an old Pentax K1000. On some levels it's like comparing apples to oranges because digital still can't quite approach film but digital is a whole lot easier to alter. I enjoy my D5000 but it has issues that I find hard to deal with like going into La la land in low light conditions. Sometimes I have missed shots because the camera simply wouldn't work. The irritating part is that is has no problem telling me there isn't enough light when the lens cap is on. I have no idea what its trip is...
