Now that Sony has launched their A7 full frame cameras, does anybody have any news on the possibility of a new NEX 7 APS-C camera being released in the the near future?
Many thanks

I am also waiting to hear of a replacement for the NEX-7, especially now that Zeiss has brought out a new Tessar 16 to 70mm lens for the NEX range.

There are rumors, but only rumors. I too am waiting to hear.
When the new a7 and a7r come out in November, the NEX series will be put to sleep.

The NEX-7 is being replaced right now (as we speak, so to say). The new a7 (24MP) and the new a7r (36.3MP) are the models to replace the existing (older NEX-7). There are hands-on-reviews out there, but no in depth-review yet. Sony also introduced a new 70-200mm/2.8 in sync with these two models, but it's a bit pricey (at $3000.00).
It's my understanding that the Nex name is being dropped but the line will continue with a different ID. I have a 7 & a5 and recently added the 16-70 and am happy with all. I have an D800 which gives me FF and high mpl although I shoot more images with the Nex. The combination works for me.
Another thought, the e mount lenses designed for FF will work fine on APC as they will be well inside the image circle only danger is larger size - however, Sony is trying to keep lenses smaller on their new bodies.
Thank you I believe it has been renamed the ILCE range of cameras! What is concerning me is when is a replacement likely to happen! There have been a number of reductions on the current NEX 7 and I do not wish to purchase something that is about to be superseded.
